Starting April 1, 2025, Microsoft will implement several pricing adjustments affecting services like Microsoft 365, Teams Phone, and Power BI. These changes, announced at the end of 2024, are outlined below.
If you opted in to annual subscriptions with monthly billing, Microsoft announced they are implementing a 5% price increase upon renewal. Microsoft mentions these increases are to standardize the billing structure and provide consistency across all platforms. If you wish to avoid this increase, you can choose to pay the annual subscription fee upfront. This change affects the following of Microsoft products:
Existing customers with renewal dates before April 1, 2025, can maintain their current pricing until their next renewal cycle.
The pricing for Teams Phone Standard will increase from $8 to $10 per user per month plus an additional 5% if in an annual commitment – paid monthly agreement. This increase applies to new and renewing commercial customers. This marks the first price adjustment since its launch in 2017. Notably, customers who access Teams Phone through Microsoft 365 E5 or Office 365 E5 subscriptions will not see these price increases.
These price adjustments also affect Power BI and Power BI Premium licenses, marking the first price update in nearly 10 years, despite Microsoft adding 1,500 updates to the Power BI portfolio over the past six years. The increases include:
